An easy strowl across town from Buitenkant street to Buitengracht street takes less than 30 min.
Walk from the KAT KONDO to the V&A Waterfront in 45 minutes.
The city streets are clean and safe to walk around and explore during the day.
Should you head out after dark to restaurants, clubs or places outside of the East City (anything further than 3-4 blocks) take an UBER.

UBER is by far the smartest way to get from Cape Town International Airport to the KAT KONDO, the CBD and the nearby Atlantic Seaboard suburbs of Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay. UBER services are also readily available, should you wish to explore the Republic of Hout Bay, Chapman's Peak Drive, Noordhoek, and across the Cape Peninsula to Muizenburg, Kalk Bay, Fishhoek and Simonstown.
UBER riders in Cape Town can also reserve a ride with Uber in advance. Not as if you'll need to, as most UBERS arrive within 2 minutes after booking at the entrance of the building where the KAT Kondo is located. Yet useful to know, should you wish to plan a trip further out of Cape Town, like Cape Point and the Cape Winelands.
BE AWARE WHILE WAITING
Be vigilant and don't flash your phone around while you wait on the pavement for your UBER or taxi ride. Don't fall victim to crime in Cape Town and South Africa.

The best way to discover the many beautiful places outside of Cape Town is by car. There are several rental car companies in the city area. SANI Car Rental in De Waterkant is the most affordable and a short Uber ride away from the Kat Kondo in Cape Town.
But (and it's a BIG BUT) we highly recommend that you only rent a car if you plan on going beyond the borders of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Somerset West. Don't rent a car to visit the winelands. Drinking and driving is illegal and irresponsible.
Use the services of a trusted wine tour operator, should you wish to venture out for a wine tasting excursion of the Cape winelands and the countries top wine estates.
Parking is a bitch in Cape Town and doesn't come cheap. Street parking is hard to come by with limited parking available throughout the CDB. Parking fines are hefty and the traffic cops in this town are fast!
Rent a car if you plan to visit Hermanus, the Garden route, the West Coast and beyond. Else avoid the unnnessasary luxury and spend what you safe on some Kat Kature to take home for yourself or your cat-crazy aunty back home.
